Martin Shield heads west to Parramatta
Parramatta have cruised to a comfortable six wicket victory over Manly in the final of the Martin Shield competition and in doing so winning their twelfth Martin Shield. Batting first Manly were in trouble at 7/53 and never really recovered despite some stoic late order batting by Warwick Symcox (39) and Ronit Mahajan (31) which saw the sea-siders battled to 145. St George win nail biter over Parramatta in the Watson Shield Final Final
St George have taken out the Watson Shield for the eleventh time in a gripping match with a 1 run win over Parramatta in the final played at Hurstville Oval. Batting first in bowler friendly conditions, St George battled hard to tally 7/178 on the back of a fine innings of 76 from Player of the Final Billy Arena - pictured below with Stuart Clark.
